What dissapoints me
IrritatedSo recently I submitted a piece that in my mind was really well done, perhaps you saw it? Entitled the Sea and me, I thought it was a great show of progression of my skills as an artist. I later find that it only has 30 something views. What the hell?
Now I've noticed this a lot on Deviant Art, but everyone here seems more obsessed with fan art, than they do with really well done art. Which I feel is an insult to the artists on this site that actually do a really good job with their art. No, I'm not trying to come across as arrogant person/artist, saying look at what i have created its better than anything you do, but i mean come on. I saw a stick figure drawing here that had more pageviews than any of my deviations. It was in the thousands okay? And you know why it had so many pageviews? Because it was final fantasy 7 related. Seriously, has DA become nothing more than a site for fan girls, I didn't sign up for a fangirl site, I signed for an art site when it originally manifested itself.
What further aggrevates me is the deviation in my gallery that has the most pageviews is the one with Vincent and Yuffie thats the flash animation. That's in the thousands. Its also from final fantasy 7. How Ironic.
I know nothing can really be done about it, and that this is really pointless, but could those of you who watch me possibly give me feedback on pieces that I do, if its a really good piece? I mean I draw to entertain you guys, plus its relaxing for me. And since I can't really go around school where theres professional art teachers and show it off, I'd appreciate more feedback on it, instead of comments from fangirls.

Just because something has a lot of views doesn't mean that it's your best work, or even a picture that doesn't mean much to you.
Views are only a reflection of the traffic on your page/picture.
Even though I think this, why does my lack of views bother me too?

I would love to hear an explanation for why you're being so ridiculous.
i guess what i'm trying to say is, possibly use the fanart as bait. lure the fangirls in and then snatch them up with your amazing original pieces!
